The Service Availability™ Forum (SA Forum), the leader in developing open specifications for carrier-grade service availability, has launched a new Application Webcast Series created to educate viewers on implementing open specifications for carrier-grade and mission-critical applications and systems. The first Webcast, “Introduction to Service Availability and the Service Availability™ Forum,” is now available for download at www.saforum.org.
To date, the SA Forum has created a robust catalog of specifications and will continue to produce updates and new releases as part of its ongoing mission. As the adoption of its specification accelerates, the Forum is expanding its focus to educating application developers on how best to leverage open specifications in their work. Enabling real-world, successful applications based on the SA Forum specifications will further accelerate industry acceptance and spur growth in the commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) ecosystem.
The new educational series will benefit a range of viewers, from those who want an introduction to high availability through seasoned application developers. The first Webcast provides a high level understanding of Service Availability and an introduction to the SA Forum, giving viewers a foundation for the rest of the series. Future topics will include the technical evaluation process, the business case for SA Forum, and case studies of successful applications based on open specifications. This valuable educational series will help developers navigate high-availability and service-availability issues so they can instead focus their time and resources on developing value-add applications.

The Webcast series is launching in conjunction with the unveiling of a new SA Forum Website. The newly architected site is simple and easy to navigate, allowing visitors quick access to information on implementing the specifications. Visit www.saforum.org to take a tour.
